Default accord idle problem only while driving

99 accord 4cyl vtec auto. No engine light

When driving the car seems to happen almost all the time. After putting the engine on driving load. It feels like the rpms are to high. Ive put the car in neutral after accelerating and the rpms will fall to 1k and then pop up to 15-17k if i leave the accelerator off it will slowly go back down to normal but very slow

I cleaned throttle body with throttle body cleaner

I have replaced IACV and checked for vacuum leaks and tried to adjust idle had to screw idle screw all the way in to get the idle to around 800.

I sprayed carburetor cleaner all around the intake and throttle body to try to find vacuum leaks.

What happens to the idle if you put your finger over the lower port inside the tb?

The idle does go down if i put my finger over the port in the throttle body. there is air going threw it at idle, but the idle is good around 800 when parked. Its after i put a load on it / driving it if i put the transmission in neutral while moving the idle will fall to 1k and then go up to 1,6k and slowly fall if i leave my foot of the gas. Ive checked many things on this car map sensor seams to test good. tps tests good, and no check engine light

Could fuel pressure regulator be a part of this?
also how does egr valve work is it open all the time or should it be closed while the car is hot? I tested the plunger by hooking it up to a battery and it closed and engine almost stalled

i think your throttle body is fine a friend of myne had allmost the same problem when in gear(drive) the idle went op to 1800rpm pulling in and out of the drive the car humpt so it was a sensor on the geabox maybe a wire maybe a plug but he sold the car like that but when he reseted the ecu there was no problem for a week or 2 so. And im from holland so dont minde my langauge. pull 1 of your battery plug off and let it wait for 3 minutes then hook it up and check if the problem is still there.

I have no cl, I'm going to replace fuel pressure regulator next. My only guess. ordered it will be here Thursday less then $50 figured its worth a try, I didn't have a pressure gauge to test the fuel pressure so i will give this a try cheaper then a fuel pressure test kit.

Yeah, for some reason I always forget the 6th gens have the fitv incorporated into the iacv.

The idle adjust screws literally never need to be adjusted. It appears you have a vacuum leak. Had anyone worked on the car prior to this issue ? It could be as simple as a vacuum hose having a very tiny crack somewhere from moving it.

I took the throttle body off and looked at in the light and i could see just a pinch of light coming threw the throttle plate so i backed the throttle set screw back a half a turn and no light put back together problem solved
