98 Honda Accord LEV model Cataylic Converter rattling
Hi all. I have a 98 Honda Accord EX, LEV model with a 162,000 miles. It is 2.3, 4 cyl. motor. My cataylic converter is rattling. I checked with the dealership, since this is a Low Emissions Vehicle model they want $700.00 for a new one. What is the difference in Cataylic Converters between a LEV one and regular one. I checked with a local salvage yard here in Michigan and they said they cannot by law sell a used one. Any suggestions? Does anyone know where I can used one for an LEV model Honda Accord? Thanks!

it might actually be your bracket for your header. mine was doing the same thing, i thought it was my cat too untill i changed out my header for my turbo manifold. thats where i saw it, its the bracket thats on the block. people from honda society told me what it could have been, but when i checked it, i didnt see it cause i was looking at the wrong bracket. check that before you buy anything.

If it is your catalytic converter replace it with an original dealer item. You may have trouble if you use an after market part. My cat convertyer went out at 92000k, but fortunately covered by warranty. i have a 98 accord 4-cyl with 110k.
