Default 98 accord tire size

i have a 98 accord lx sedan. i do ALOT of outdoor things like camping, hiking, hunting, and fishing. 99% of the fishing access roads where i live are ALWAYS very very muddy and "rugged" if you will. i have gotten stuck a couple times over the summer with my summer tires and i was wondering if anyone knows what the largest tire size i can fit on my accord without it rubbing would be? i know the stock size is 196/65/15. please dont tell me to buy a tuck and so on, i was close to buying a 03 subaru forester but i decided not to. the accord is already paid for and i just put a new engine in it, long story short, i plan to keep it for a while...

car has open differential so that has more to do with you getting stuck. getting a limited slip will go a long ways towards solving your problem

While I have not personally run anything with that tall of a sidewall you can do a quick google search for "miata tire size calculater" and enter the stock size tire then enter the one you want.

It will tell you how off your speedometer will be as well as the difference in size between that and stock. You could use that to measure.

when i go from 195/65/15to 205/70/15
sidewall 5.0" to 5.6"
radius 12.5" to 13.1"
diameter 25.0" to 26.3"
circumference 78.5" to 82.6"

none of the changes seem to be that big but im not a tire expert. i THINK i can run the 205/70/15. what do you think?

It doesn't seem like *that* much of a difference, however keep in mind that sidewall difference is on both sides of the tire. So you have .6" more in all directions.

I would say from the numbers you *look* ok but I would wait for someone else to chime in before you pull the trigger on them. I'm more familiar with CD chassis Accords.

im going to measure tomorrow and see what i think from there. if no one on hear has an answer for me im going to bite the bullet and go to a junk yard, see if i can find 2 tires in that size, run them in the front and if they dont rub, switch them to the back and see if there are any problems.

just to give u an idea. this is "entrance" to one if the fishing access roads lol. the actual access road is ALOT worse. sometimes i wonder how i dont get stuck more often lol. you might ask yourself, "it looks like you are going kinda fast in that picture, why in the hell are you doing that?" i tried to go through the access road at a normal speed, didint quite work out, so what you see is my "running start"
