Default '98 Accord LX Intermittent power lock / window problem

Vehicle information:
1998 Honda Accord LX 2.3L Automatic 4 door remote lock / trunk options

Problem:
Power door locks and passenger power windows working intermittently. After not being used for a few weeks, the power locks would not lock or unlock utilizing the key in either of the exterior door locks or either of the interior power lock switches; the drivers door would unlock using the Honda remote key fob. Also, the passenger windows would not operate using the drivers window controls in the drivers door panel; they would operate using their individual power window switches in their respective door panels.

After removing the drivers door panel and charging the battery, all the above items seemed to work with the drivers door open, but when the door was shut, the doors would unlock but not lock. Also, the door lock solenoid makes a secondary "bshht" noise after either locking or unlocking; I had not noticed this secondary noise when the windows and locks were operating properly on the vehicle.

I'm stumped. I do not currently have a wiring diagram for the vehicle, my next step is to pick one up.

Has anyone experienced this problem? Is there a common ground or power location that I should be aiming for? I appreciate any tips or suggestions!

Dude sounds like the multiplex went to sleep.set the intermittent wiper to a new position then turn on the ignition to position 2,this should re-set the multiplex and everything should work as normal

Thanks for the reply.

I was home for lunch and gave your suggestion a try. The problem still exists after adjusting the the intermittent wiper to a new position then turning on the ignition to position 2. For what it is worth, though, the intermittent wipers appear to only be working at one speed - the slowest setting.

Is the multiplex a standalone module or is it part of a larger ECU? Any additional tips for resetting or diagnosing with non-OEM specific tools (DVOM, test light, etc.)?

Any additional suggestions?

The multiplex is part of a "CAN" system. You might need a wiper switch.
But before doing that, you should check your grounds at each multiplex.
