Icon7 98 Accord ECU replacement questions

My 98 Accord LX L4 MT is reporting a p1382 code (CYP no signal) immediately after starting the engine. I've done the diagnostics and the sensor and harness pass - leaving the ECU as the likely culprit. I plan on replacing the ECU and have questions.

I plan an buying a used ECU from car-part.com or ebay. My original ECU is printed 37820-PAA-L11. I know honda came out with a newer ecu for this car - 37820-PAA-408 (seen that recommended in service bulletins). But I'm not finding any used 37820-PAA-408's. On car-part.com and ebay I'm finding folks listing additional part numbers as being compatible with my car (e.g. 37820-PAA-L61). I want to make sure I buy the right part - especially considering these are often not returnable. How interchangeable are these part numbers?

I know I'll have to get the new ECU flashed to work with my existing keys. Do I have to go to the dealer for that? or do some locksmiths have the right equipment? or is there a mail order service for this?

Thanks!

dealer to flash it.

have you gone to a local salvage yard? that might be a better bet so you can verify the part #.

SO, what ever came of this? what ecu did you go with? which are 100% compatible with 37820-PAA-L11?

I got an identically numbered part (37820-PAA-L11) from a salvage yard and had a local locksmith flash it.
