Default 97 Accord Won't Start

I have a 97 accord and the problem i'm having is that sometimes it would start and sometimes it wouldn't.. but if i just let it sit for a few minutes after trying to start it and then i try again it starts.. but now it won't start at all.. i checked the distributor and spark plugs and i'm getting sparks but when i pulled out the spark plugs i noticed that it wasn't even wet with any gas at all so i'm thinking it's the fuel pump.. but i don't know where it's located.. can anybody help me out?

i mould try main realy first. did you check for fuel. it should not be wet with gas or wet at all. but take off the line going to your fuel rail and check to see if you are getting fuel. then if your not check fuses if ok then check main relay. if that checks out then you check for power to the pump if that is ok then replace the pump.

The fuel pump is in the fuel tank. There is an access cover in the back of the car.

Just so you know, Honda fuel pumps are extremely reliable, but main relays fail all the time. Do a search on main relays. The search should provide pages and pages of info.

how did you check for fuel. then the only thing left is check for compression. im am convinced it is the main relay. pumps rarely go out relays go out all the time. did you check your grounds. pariticularly the one on the t-stat housing

i did check for the fuel pump earlier in the trunk and i saw an access panel to the gas tank but when i took it out i didn't see a fuel pump unless it was there and i just didn't realize it.. all i saw were a few tube lines and a black box at the end of it.. i thought that it was the lever for the gas gauge of something..

You may have fuel pressure but how about injector pulse?

you check pressure with a fuel pressure gauge. and you check injector pulse with a mulitmeter

im not sure for the 97 accord but i have heard that it is behind the glove box or something you will have to confirm that. people talk about the relays all the time just search for accord main relay and you should be able to find the answer

okay today after i was done putting in a clutch for someone i checked on the accord and the main relay is still good and all the fuses and grounds are still good.. but i did not check for fuel pressure since i didn't have a pressure gauge so i'm just gonna go ahead and replace the fuel pump. but the car was started when i got to my uncles house and then when i took the distributor out to check the cap and rotors and coil and put it back on.. it wouldn't start no more.. so i'm thinking maybe i damaged it somehow? but if i damaged it should there be a spark still?

well i checked the pressure to my fuel line and i do have pressure the fuel line was hooked up wrong to the fuel rail.. the holes didn't match up perfectly but it still won't start so i took my distributor out again and i noticed that it was damaged.. the part where the distributor hooks up the the camshaft.. one of the slots or hooks is broken.. i'm not sure if that makes since or not.. but since one is still intact should it run fine still?
