97 accord v6 cranks but won't start
I have a 97 accord v6, replaced the starter last night in it, because the old one would sometimes click but not spin the motor. when I was loosening the 2 mounting bolts on the starter, I hadn't disconnected the positive wire yet at the battery (i know, dumb me) and i dropped my wrench and it arced between the positive cable on the starter and the housing of the starter. when i turn the key, the car turns over and sounds like its going to fire up but then goes back to cranking. I took off the distributor cap while my gf turned the key and i can see it arcing between a couple of the pins in the cap, so its getting spark, and the rotor spins. it's getting fuel because when you turn the key you can hear the fuel pump come on. and i tried starting it with the gas pedal pressed and that didn't help either, so its not the idle air control on the throttle body. i put back on the old starter and it will crank but not fire up also. not getting a check engine light.
any ideas?

no haven't done anything to the motor. i don't think its the spark plus or wires, i mean i drove it to the garage of my house, replaced the starter, and now it cranks but won't fire, so its still sitting in my garage
