Default 97 accord 5spd swap

This is probably asked fairly often, but, if I want to do just a swap to a 5 speed transmission from an automatic for now, do I need to buy a whole new engine or just find a 5speed tranny from the same year accord and clutch or what? Also what can I expect to spend on just the parts? Any help on the subject is appreciated, it's got the F22B2 in it.

You dont need to buy a whole engine. you just need to find a manual trans, flywheel, shiftcables, shifter plate, manual ecu, slave cylinder, clutch master, cluch pedal, clutch. I know I didnt get everything but its a start.

Now price it depends on what type of person you are. One who likes to get new shiny stuff or someone who is budgeted , me im budgeted so what i would do is go on Craigslist and try to find a cheap accord (90-02) manual and take theparts off and swap basically

Read the writeups on manual conversions. I've even made one myself.

Another question that will likely come out dumb. A swap is something that I can just collect all the parts and once I have everything I need complete the swap in a day or two right? I just need an idea of how long my car will be out of commission

unless you are doing major engine modifications along with it its not worth the effort in my opinion.
