Geez ... there seems to be an epidemic on faulty cooling fans.

Re: ac and cooling fan not working
im having the same issues too with my cooling fan. at first it was the green wire to the temp gauge sensor that broke off and i just fixed that problem and the gauge is now working fine. and then i just replace the coolant temp switch next to that one. but the fan isnt turning on and the engine temp just sky rockets. is there something else i should check.
everything was working perfectly fine until the wire broke on the coolant temp gauge.
i would appreciate any help.

Anyway, have you ruled out a bad t-stat, your comment about the temp "sky rockets" makes me ask this.
Then, thermo a (green connector by the t-stat-lower hose) controls the fan operation when the car is on...not close to the single wire temp sending unit on the end of the head.
