95 accord manual trans lock out! PLEASE HELP!
on my 95 accord manual I only have 2 gears, which are 3 and 4. I was driving regular heard a couple clicks and then I stopped check it and then that's what I could only move the shifter forwards and backwards and not side to side. I was messing with It today wiggling the shift level and it broke free for a second and so i tried to see if the clutch would engage and it did, still not allowing me to put it in reverse. and then i tried to do it a couple more times and it locked me out and hasn't changed since.
i really have no clue in what it could be except for it being an inner problem.
people have told me that it could be cables, shift fork, input shaft, pressure plate.. i really didn't want to have to have to take the trans out but looks like i may have to. if i do what ever the problem may be what would be the most cost effective way of fixing it. i would not mind of taking the trans apart.
please help me out. its my daily driver and my only car
thanks you much
any advice is helpful

Wouldn't you start by pulling the boot/console from around the shifter and look at the linkage/bushings and see what is going on there.
