The wagon started making slight scraping noises only when starting. Stupid me kept neglecting it over a week until once when I started it it made a horrific nasty, i didn't think it would ever start again, noise. Again, once started it ran with no issues. I drove it home and parked it. Upon inspection I found that the starter bolts were loose and had backed out 1/2" to 1". I torqued both of the bolts down. Now it starts super smoothly. I'm lucky it didn't kill any of the flywheel teeth and hopefully it didn't wear them too badly prematurely. I must have forgotten to torque them initially for them to come loose like that. I just want to pass on the lesson from my mistake.
