95 accord auto f22b2 oil leak
I have a 95 Accord LX 2.2L NON-VTEC auto with a f22b2. it's leaking oil from the back of the engine on the drivers side. My mechanic put the dye then checked it. He says the oil is coming from the head gasket. Only on the 1 spot. I thought that once the head gasket goes that it'd be leaking from every where. Is there any other place it could be leaking from? Any help would be appreciated. I know that there is no oil on the filter so it can't be coming from the oil pressure switch and no oil from the oil pan.

Compression test to see if actual gasket is bad/head warped.
If compression numbers are GOOD spray the leaking area with brake cleaner to remove ALL residue. Hit it with some Hondabond after making sure its clean enough to eat off of. Let it cure for atleast 24 hours. Test drive and check for leaks.
If there is any residue whatsoever the Hondabond will NOT and it will leak oil.
This isnt guaranteed to work but it might.

valve cover gasket is the top oil gasket on the engine. very common to never get changed and leak
compression test is a general engine health test. it will tell u the condition of piston rings, head gasket etc.

well drivers side there is a valve cover seal, spark plug tube seals, balance shafts etc. If oil is leaking there may also be oil in the coolant but I know there are some oil passages near the edge of the head gasket but they would most likely leak profusely under pressure unless theyre the drain back areas of the block

Re: 95 accord auto f22b2 oil leak
its probally ur valve cover. vtec or not ur camshaft needs oil and most(if not all) engine models pump oil to the top of the engine and allow gravity to lubricate all the other engine parts. meaning there is oil at the top of then engine.
chances are he want to repair ur head gasket for $$$$ and that wont solve the problem but he gets paid anyway
