Re: 94 accord rear disc conversion (accordvtec)
remember mowt of your stopping ability comes from the front brakes. Drums suck and get some good pads.

Sometimes I wonder if you have a problem with using stuff known as technology.

Re: 94 accord rear disc conversion (smokin rubber)
Even with a turbo H22 you wont need to upgrade the rear brakes, at least not for street driving.

Re: 94 accord rear disc conversion (accordvtec)
The reason people hate the look of drum brakes is because they know that disc brakes give better performance and more predictable breaking habits. It is about balance.[/QUOTE]
damn finally someone understands what im saying. more powerful braking, especially when the damn car wont stop with waht is already had.....

Re: 94 accord rear disc conversion (h22akrd)
Upgrade your front discs to slotted/cross drilled and see if it makes a big diff... if it doesnt then go for the rear disk conv.

Re: 94 accord rear disc conversion (Atunedccord)
Before I bought my 97 accord I pondered the question of swapping the rear brakes myself. I do have one question that no one seems to know about this. What proportion valve would you use? The cars with rear disc were ABS and cars with drums are non-ABS. I know for Civic rear brakes you use a 40/40 off a 90-93 non-ABS integra. An ABS one will not work. Also on my special edition the rear crossmember is different than one on a car with rear disc. It does not have the mounting holes for a sway bar! I have compared these repeatedly to make sure I wasn't missing something. I used to work in junk yard for honda's so I had lots of access.....

Re: 94 accord rear disc conversion (h22akrd)
take the whole rear suspension complete with all arms connected to it...and also take the e-brake line...all you have to do is swap out the rear suspension and connect up the ebrake line...for the abs harness...just cut if off since you wont have abs....after that just bleed out the whole system...chances are you haven't flushed out your brakeing fluid anyway and i heard that its alway good to flush it out every 60k miles or so...... that's what i did...just did my swap lik 3 weeks ago on ma 98 lx...most people say it doesnt help but i feel a big difference..for instance...my car doesnt skid as much in the rain anymore...with the drums i was just praying not to hit anyone everytime i hit ma brakes in the rain when im going too fast....with the rear disc brakes i can acutally stop in time..

Re: 94 accord rear disc conversion (kazmans94cord)
just cause you have an h22 dont mean you need rear discs. the brakes on the accord work fine. yes, rear disc conversion will add more stopping power, but there is plenty of stopping power already.
