Just replaced the alternator and power steering pump on my 94 EX

alternator working great, power steering fluid just keeps foaming and overflowing the bottle on the side of the fender well.

How the hell do I bleed this system to get the air out????!!!!

I've picked up a bottle of the Honda specific fluid...

I've started the car and let it sit for the bubbles to go out several times to no avail...

Help please!

Are yo sure that it's not sucking air with the pump running? Check the lines you took loose to see if you have any bad connections.

no loose lines, only removed the two lines where the bolt to the pump. O rings are intact, fully tightened etc...

poor design/parts location, the bottle isn't at the top of the system so it doesn't bleed easily

If you're sure it's not sucking air. Start the car and turn the steering wheel back and fourth lock to lock several times and it should purge the air.
If not you might have a bad pump or a kinked line.

I did that too... I'm ythinking that the pump is bad. I got it because the old one squeeked sometimes on starting the car, it stopped if I sprayed lube into the bearing behind the pulley.

This one squeels all the time... very noisy pump... I guess that a boneyard pump wasn't a great idea...

those things are a pain in the ***. i usually just top it off start the car and shut off after a few seconds. go refill and start again, do this until the fluid is leveld off for the most part then just turn wheel lock to lock.

Fortunately, this is probably the last time you'll have to touch the power steering fluid for at least another decade.

IT was a bad replacement pump! different pump start and let it sit twice, 20 minutes and a few ounces of oil later, all done
