Default Emergency brake light help.

The problem started today, and it's kind of annoying to be honest. Before, if I took a turn a little to fast, it'd stay on for a little bit until I straightened out, or if I'd do a little 1st to 2nd or so pull, it'd turn on and stay on for a little. At first I thought "traction control?" but it's a 1997, it's not that great, but earlier, it stayed on all the way home, so I'm unhooked the battery hoping it'd work.

Any help, suggestions?

*would tightening the ebrake nut under the console affect this? Even though I did it about a month ago.
