This is a friends car. It is a 1993 Accord EX A/T with 180k miles on it. As he was driving it, it just bogged down and died, would not respond to the gas pedal being pressed. After the car cooled off, it would start and run for a few minutes, then die again. Smelled hot under the hood. So he parked it, hitched a ride, and when I got to the car, the ignition had been torn out of it, as someone had attempted to steal it. Now here's the deal.

The coil and ignition module both tested out of spec, bad, and have been therefore replaced. The ignition module gets power when the key is switched on. The fuel pump primes when the switch is on. However I still get no spark. This leads me to believe the main relay isn't the problem. The coil wire has 5k Ohms of resistance, so I think it is also fine, and I am using it to check for spark. My only remaining idea is that the car needs a TDC sensor (re a new dizzy), but since I've already bought the ignition module and coil for the guy, and he doesn't have much money, I really want to check out my other options. Once again the primary leads on the old coil was a dead short, the ignition module failed a benchtest. I tried swapping in a main relay from a 94 Civic, but it made no difference.

I replaced the lock cylinder, but tell me, are the wires on the back of the starter switch all that are necessary to start the car? It appears so from the wiring diagram.

So here I sit tracing wires and praying for a miracle. There are not local recyclers with distributors for that car for some reason, and I really feel like I need to help his guy out. Seeing as how he's lost his job, and I'm not a rich man myself to pull him out of this one. HELP!
