91 LX Clutch Problems
Alright this is for my brothers 91 LX not my 94 LX.
When you press the clutch in, it screams like a baby and after the car has warmed up, it acts like it wants to die. Also there is a metal to metal smell under the hood when this happens. When hes off the clutch its fine, but when you get on it it squeals and tries to bog out. Also he said that when he starts up in the morning, coming out of first gear into second, the clutch will slip like hell and finally catch. Then its fine after that UNTIL he gets on the highway in fifth gear and it will do it then to.
I went out on a limb and said his throw out bearing could be bad. Maybe his pressure plate could have something to do with it as well. But I told him, the clutch was good because he can still take off at like 1000 rpms in first.
We filled his clutch fluid with the proper amount and it didnt do it as loud, but it still did it and smelled like metal to metal...
I dont really know what it is, so maybe some one here does!

The bottom line is the trans needs to be pulled out and then see whats going on. I've seen the clutch plates throw out the springs before and cause this kind of problem.
