92 accord LX: No start, cant figure it out
OK. First: Battery died a few months ago, so I had it jumped, it started drove it home. I went to start it the next day and it just slow cranked and wouldnt start, so I drove my other car. I drove my new car for about a month and decided to try and fix my accord.
so one month later:
Step 1:
Replaced the battery.
result: Plunty of power, all accessories, lights turn on work fine. Except, the car just clicks. The starter does not engage at all.
Checked all fuses under the hood and the driver side kick panel. All were ok. Checked connection to starter, and everything was tight. Reconnected battery, made sure every thing was connected tightly.
Again, car would just click when I turned the key. And again, I tested all lights, accesories, radio, power, fans, etc. and all fine.
Step 2:
Pulled the starter.
Had it benched tested, it bench tested just fine.
Pulled the Alternator, had it tested and it was fine. ugh.
Put it back in, and same just click no-start.
Push started the car since its a manual, and it runs like a champ. Battery is charging 14+.
Let it warm up drove it on the freeway, drove it home, turned it off, and tried to immediately start it again, and CLICK.
So after reading these forums, I decided perhaps the rekay could be toast. Replaced the main relay, and still just a click.
So what's left? Neutral Safety Switch? Whats the easiest way to test that?
Any suggestions, ideas, or similar experiences?
I just dont get the fact that after the battery died and it was jumped is when the no start happened. Something just dont make sense.
Argh....

if its a 5speed pump the clutch 5 times then try this is to test the clutch sensor. if its an auto try switching between park and neutral. if thats not the cause i would check for good clean grounds and replace the wire from the battery to the starter solenoid. might check battery connections while youre there
