92 accord lx crank/no start
I have an lx with a no start problem. I just replaced the fuel pump, and it has good fuel pressure. New distributor, but when i pulled the wires each one had oil half way up the spark plug hole. I havent done anything else. the car sat for 3 years, and needed the fuel pump replaced. But now it wont start. the wires each have less than 10 ohms through them. the coil is good. I just thought about the firing order on the dis. i will check that out now, but should i change the wires, they are oil soaked internally but i am not familiar with that situation. thanks in advance

Change the VC gasket, tube seals and get new plugs-if you are really brave change the o-rings as well. You can just clean out the tubes but if you don't change the seals it will just come back.

Re: 92 accord lx crank/no start
I found the valve cover to be loose, so i cleaned up the surfaces and rebolted it down, seems to work good, but still no start. I checked the spark plugs and i see spark from them when cranking. the fuel press is good. What is the possibility of the injectors being seized or gummed up? The car sat for a few years, and the pump was rusted out pretty bad. I am think that might have happened to the injectors as well. any thoughts...thanks for your response

Stuff paper towels down the tube holes to soak up as much oil as possible, pull the plugs, clean them off, pull the valve cover, replace the plug tube gaskets, install everything in reverse, start vehicle and drive.

Re: 92 accord lx crank/no start
Ok, i figured the no start issue out, it was the main relay. I took it out and took it apart and put it back together...it starts. I do have an idle issue, i cleaned the iac. it goes form 1400 to 2000 rpms. I hear a vaccuum leak coming from the brake booster area. when i shut the car off i can hear the leak bleed off for about 5 seconds. any ideas of where the leak could be coming from, or it it is normal. thanks in advance
