Icon2 91 Accord Valve Cover Gasket

A few days ago my Accord had a huge oil leak. When looking underneath to see where it was coming from, it at first looked like it was coming from the oil filter or the Oil Pressure sending unit. I bought oil and refilled the engine (I lost all of the oil in the engine) to get it home. When I got home, I checked the oil again, but did not lose any. It was as if there was no leak.

When I got under the car to get a better look, it did appear to be the oil sending unit. So I replaced the oil filter and sending unit since I was there ( I did a complete oil change).

But the thing is, I notice oil going all the way up to the top of the right side of the engine (passenger side).

When I looked down from the top of the engine it appears as though the oil may have come out of the valve cover gasket (at the back of the engine).

My question is this, Is it possible that all of the oil was lost because of a worn valve cover gasket?

If the vehicle is parked or driven on hilly terrain yes.
I need a VC gasket for my car and have been too lazy to replace. It only leaks when I drive up a steep incline, which is once a week.

The area I'm in isn't really hilly, although there are a few steep hills.

Is it possible that the oil somehow sprayed up to the top of the engine? I ask this because I did the oil change, cleaned the oil from as much of the back of the engine as I could and completely cleaned all around the valve cover, and can find no leak anywhere.

I just ran the car for a little over an hour, and nothing, I see no leaks. I even took a large sheet of card board and left it under the car so I see if there was any dripping. It's clean... no oil on it.

I'm just thinking the oil at the top of the engine had to of come from some where, but where. I know it wasn't there before.
