Default 91 accord ex horrible gas mileage

All started off about a year ago when I noticed that the gas light no longer was working. I was getting 125- 160 miles per tank. Then I replaced O2 sensor, tps, spark plugs And wires and I got 200 miles to a tank. After about 5 months later I got the code for an oxygen sensor heater so I replaced the sensor again. The motor seems to be running hotter than normal because the
fan comes on almost all the time now after I finish driving. I also had the timing belt and water pump replaced. I have never seen it smoking but the rear end of the car always have residue of black smoke on it and I wash my car at least once a week. Once I fill the car up the 1st 1/4 of the tank I can get 90-100 miles then the rest of the tank is gone in about 60 miles or so. Highway gas mileage is also horrible unless the tank is full.
SOMEONE PLEASEE HELP!! P.s. Runs great no idle problems no hesitation or sputtering. Starts rough sometimes and seems like engine is flooded at times

1) MPG is not Miles Per Tank. It should not be calculated that way. Reset your trip odometer the next time you fill up and fill the car up 100% to the first click of the pump. The next time you fill up, look at the odometer and divide that number by the gallons you put in. ~160 miles / 8 gal = 20MPG. The way you're doing it is incredibly vague and not helping you at all.

2. There's more to the car than just O2 sensors and timing belt/water pump.

When did you last have an alignment?
Are the tires properly inflated?
Are you rolling around on 400lb 22" wheels?
When did you change the spark plugs?
Were the spark plugs gapped properly?
What brand of spark plugs did you use?
When did you replace the wires?
Have you inspected/replaced the fuel filter?
Have you had a valve adjustment?
Have you replaced the distributor cap/rotor?
Have you inspected/cleaned/replaced the injectors?
When did you change the engine air filter?
When did you change the oil?
What oil/filter are you using?
Are you mashing down on the gas pedal everywhere you go?
Have you looked into cleaning EGR ports?
What brand of O2 sensor are you using?
Have you replaced the PCV?
Have you checked to see if you have a locked up brake caliper dragging on a rotor?
etc

Also be sure to change out your cap and rotor.

160 /13 = 12 mpg and I have new tires, 17" rims great alignment (17" rims been on car for about 7 years no problem before) I have not changed distributor or rotor cap but like I said car runs great cleaned fuel injectiors and egr.. Plugs were pre- gapped and that's irrelevant because the problem occurred before changing them and the wires I have not changed the fuel filter.. The car had Good gas mileage but then sat for about a year and now it's horrible

You're guessing on the gas mileage. Actually measure it out the next few trips to the pump so you get an average. I actually use Fuelly and track every fillup to get my gas mileage on my daily driver.

Clearly the car isn't running great if you're getting **** mileage. And no, nothing I mentioned was irrelevant. You want fixes for bad gas mileage, I just blasted you with just about all of them.

Absolutely, clearly you have been, that's why you're using MPT (Miles Per Tank) to measure it with an exact MPG rather than saying you get 100 miles for the first 1/4 and then 60 for the rest.

Don't worry about reading through that list I wrote up, you clearly know what you're doing and don't need any suggestions/help

And to clarify, when I say they're still relevant - certain brands (like for O2 sensors) are known to work better than others. Denso vs Bosch, etc. You said the plugs were pre-gapped, but don't tell us the brand or if you've checked the gap yourself - they're not always correct. There's a million other things in the list I wrote that you don't address at all.

The things you are addressing will cause my gas mileage to fall off by about 3-4 mpg NOT 10-15 mpg I have never heard of a brand causing that big of a difference. Just fall back ion need your opinion if you are going to bring a stale attitude along with it. If I stated I have had this proble since last July (10 months ago) don't you think the problem would be a little more sophisticated than just spark plugs.
1. The fuel gauge is dependent on the fuel sending unit. It's not necessarily a direct correlation to the amount of fuel burned. Hence it's a terrible method of measurement.

2. Again, you have not said what plugs (the brand) you replaced them with, what they were actually gapped to, and when they were installed.

3. Did you bother reading anything in my list? I listed quite a bit more than "spark plugs". Oh hey look, I said "distributor cap/rotor" too! OMG. Fuel filter? OMG?! Valve adjustment?! WTF IS THAT?! PCV?! Dragging brake caliper?! HOLY **** OMG

But again, knowing what your actual MPG you're getting is the place to start. I can just divide random numbers like you do too. 200/5 = 40MPG. I guess I'm getting 40MPG now.

This is what I'm talking about:

1993 Honda Accord Mileage

The average across 49 cars and 1300+ fillups is ~25MPG mixed highway/city

*edit* And to add, one of the reasons I'm responding this way is because you aren't nearly the first person to ask this question. In fact, you're not even one of the first 100. There's a **** ton of threads in the Accord section alone that go over it. MPG isn't necessarily correspond with one magic fix, a whole bunch of stuff has to be working together properly to get the expected numbers. Since no one knows your car, what its history is, or its current condition how are they going to be able to give you the smoking gun to solve the problem? They can't. Hence a list of ~15-20 things that all contribute to MPG.
