Default 91 Accord: code 15..

Howdy..

Hoping I can get some help since I need my car to get to class...

Yesterday, while driving home, the car quit running in the middle of the road.
Check engine light came on. But luckily it started back up.

I read the CEL and it's code 15: ignition output signal

From what I read it's most likely the iginter but my distributor was replaced on may 2008. The new part was brand new but aftermarket.

I heard aftermarket distributors are not that great. Do you think the distributor is my problem?

Main relay is fine I think because I can hear it click.

Any help would be great..
Thanks

Mmm, I have not.
I don't have any tools here to test it.

But as I google more about it, it seems like the problem is the ICM...which is another name for the igniter, right?

But again, the whole distributor was replaced back in May of 2008.
Are chances that the IMC is the problem pretty high?

I'm a broke college student so spending the least money possible is a must..haha

you could have a crappy icm since it probably wasnt replaced with a honda dealer part 2 years ago. it could also be a distributor going out but you should get all kinds of other codes because the coil and icm are in the distributor. you should have codes for those and possibly individual misfire codes too. yes the distributor bearings go out too. good news is the distributor had a lifetime warranty at autozone should it ever go out again

OK finally replaced the distributor with an new aftermarket one.
Got a really good deal on it and I can't afford one from Honda.

Car starts fine but it now idles rough and it sputters a bit when you hit the gas.

I'm pretty sure I setup the firing order is OK.
When is not setup correctly, the car simply won't turn over, right?

Haven't replaced plugs and wires yet.
Is that next?

Thanks.
