90 Accord LX- no clock, auto seatbelts, or key chime
First let me say that I am not one to typically post in one of these forums... I guess I'm just shy like that. I usually can find the answer to my question through searching....but not this time. I have tried searching under "clock" "chime" "ignition switch" etc...nothing. So, if this has come up before... I apologize in advance. Otherwise, thank you very, very much for your help. I have 90 Accord LX, manual transmission. I recently had to replace the ignition lock cylinder, and did so with out much trouble. except... when I had everything back together, and tried cranking it, I got a small shock and a loud ZAP ! -The car wouldn't start. I should mention that it was raining out and that I had the hood open. when I had reattached the battery, it was covered in water, but I didn't think that would hurt. So, I cleaned off the bettery and tried again, boom, the car starts right up. but... somethings very, very wrong...
My auto seatbelt aren't moving
My clock is dead
My key-in ignition chime is not functioning
the light that goes around the ignition switch is not lighting up.
My first instinct is to check the fuses...nothing. I pulled each, one by one, in the box in the interior and under the hood...all good. So, I thought i'd try taking to honda under my lifetime seatbelt warranty- and Honda comes back to tell that it's electrical, and not covered.
So, PLEASE, if anyone know where to even start to fix this issue, I would be very grateful.

Re: 90 Accord LX- no clock, auto seatbelts, or key chime (1990AccordEX)
I tried that... actually, both the radio fuses were blown, (in and under the hood) and I replced them. There is no radio currently installed, just a hole in the dash with the wires hanging out. Since I posted this question I've done more research using google, etc, and I think tommorrow I'm going to try electic-taping the exposed wires so they aren't exposed anymore and rechecking fuses, and replacing as needed. Hopefully it's that simple. I need to get my stereo installed, but i'm not willing to pay someone $50 to do it, and don't know enough about that stuff to DIY it. Hopefully this is the casue of the prob- but why would the radio/ clock fuse effect...the seatbelts??
