Default 90 accord fuel issue

90 accord fuel issue

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Have a 1990 accord of my mother-in-law's that has fuel pressure up past the fuel filter but for some reason it never makes it into the head. It is a 4 cylinder with programmed fuel injection. If I prime it through a vacuum hose it runs until the prime runs out. I put another ecm out of a junk yard in it because the other one had been wet and was stuck with cel 14 and wouldn't reset or transition with new trouble codes as i was under the hood unplugging stuff. Now the new one does register new cel's, but I don't think any fuel is actually being injected. I haven't troubleshooted the injectors because I'm sure they didn't all go bad at once (not to mention I'm by myself and don't have anyone to turn engine over while I check) and btw the fuel pump does run consistentantly like it should. I bought a chilton and what a piece of crap. It tells how to remove components but no troubleshooting at all. No chronological sequence of fuel being delivered into the motor so you can see how it's delivered and what controls this sequence (ecm?) of events and how it knows how to react.
I did clean the idle control valve but I don't think that would keep it from starting at all. It probably just would idle right. Thank you in advance for any help you can give me. Also have fuel pressure at fuel pressure regulator but I didn't have a good enough connection so it would leak out of my cobbled together pressure checker pretty fast but I did have presskure (30 or 40 I think) so I don't know if it really holds pressure like I assume it should, but once again, it won't start or even hit at all unless I prime it.
Please any diagrams, schematics, flow charts, or even if you want to talk about my mama, would be greatly appreciated.

I'd still like to know what the codes are.

Are you getting voltage to the injectors? One wire should be hot-I think the red/blk, sorry don't have my manual with me.

There arent any codes since I put in new junk yard ecm unless I unplug something
under the hood.

The TDC, CKP and CYP sensors inside the distributor are the sensors that the ECU uses to control fuel. If there is an issue with the TDC the car will not turn over as it is the sensor the ECU uses for cranking (start up) fuel timing.

You mentioned that the old ECU was wet. What happened that it got wet, and how long was it wet? If it was wet and you tried to start the car. It may have shorted a few other things like fuses and relays. You should check them as well.

By turn over you mean starting right? The engine will rotate with the starter, but will not start unless I prime it with fuel, and then only momentarily until the squirt of fuel runs out. It used to sometimes start randomly but it would only idle and die out if you gave it any kind of throttle at all. Now it doesn't even do that anymore. Also, I already checked all the fuses and their good and I assume the main relay is good since the fuel pump runs. Also, the reason the old ECM was wet was their were some issues with an electric window motor and I don't know how long the old ECM was wet but their was a lot of corrosion on and in the case of that and the one for the transmission. Please let me know what you think. Thanks.

If you have spark and the fuel pump is working and getting fuel to the rail. then you have to find out why the injectors aren't firing.

An issue with the above mentioned sensors and there wire connecttions to the ECU would be the first place I would look. Aside from a clogged fuel filter or crimped fuel line. Your Chiltons manual should have trouble shooting procedures for the three sensors and the ECU. If not you need to find the Helms manual to download. It has all of the step by step electrical test procedures.
