Default 90-93 Accord gas mileage

I have a 92' Accord LX coupe that seems to get pretty shitty gas mileage. I was wondering what you other CB7 owners out there are averaging?? I'm at about 25mpg with mixed city/highway driving which I think is pretty low considering my old DA Integra got a steady 30mpg even with all city driving!! Is this average or is there something wrong?? I have a new exhaust and I recently have changed the O2 sensor, intake filter, spark plugs, cap and rotor, and the fuel filter. I bought this car for a daily driver but I'm thinking about selling it and getting another DA if the Accord cant get over 30mpg. So is this average or should I be getting more out of it??

Okay, WTF!?!? You are getting the same gas mileage running on 3 cylinders as I'm getting after a full tune up!?!?!? What the hell could be wrong here guys?? Ive replaced everythingthat usually leads to bad gas mileage. Am I missing anything?? Any ideas??

I get about 33mpg Hwy and 26mpg (or so) city. I tend to do a bit more city driving than anything else but my average comes out to be about 26-28mpg. My sig has full details on what I've done to the car:

Intake, header (with a nice leak at the join with the downpipe), high flow cat, full exhaust, about a 2.5 - 3'' drop, 17's. 5spd too.

I'm averaging about 20mpg, yes, 20mpg, all city with a heavy stereo and a busted O2 sensor that's making me run noticeably rich (my exhaust stinks). I should be able to fix the O2 sensor soon and I'm looking to dump my subs and A/C...a good 300# off...from there I should be able to get about 25-27mpg with my driving.

are you guys including whether or not you have an auto or 5spd. to the post that is running on 3 cylinders, I hate you.lol. naw just kidding. i get suv mileage in my car. 17-18 city. highway i have gotten like 23-25. i do need a major tune though. the minor ones don't do it for me. i think my problem is the internal engine components. but my car is also alot heavier than the sedan not to mention the weight of my engine.

I'm getting 33 MPG when I try my hardest to drive like I'm not running from the po-po's. Mostly city driving.

I have a 91 accord EX sedan (Canadian, so F22A1), and I have a shortram.

I'm amazed at how good my mpg is, as I usually drive 3 people in the car besides me. A lot better mileage than my old Ford Bronco...to say the least.

Yeah i bought this car about year ago to replace my jeep on 33's for gas mileage, well i like the car so much i just decided to sell my jeep and keep driving the accord since gas prices were going up to $3.00 a gallon. well last weekend i was coming down the road and it freaked out well it actually was on the interstate. I took it to the shop and had all the gaskets in the head replace because there was alot of oil leakage. The guy that did it was looking it at it and he told cylinder 3 is gone. you can take the spark plug wire off while the car is running and absolutely nothing happen, but gosh it sucks to drive cause it has no power. But i only have a about 2 1/2 weeks left until my new f22a1 goes in and new clutch. Anymore question though about it though just ask. thanks

Before the car got its problem about a week ago i was getting about 30-34 mpg average and now im getting 24-26 roughly mpg. It is a 5 speed also and no modifications. also i am about 5,000 miles over on oil change because it burns it so much and so fast i just dont worry about to often. I normally change it about every other oil change just for a new filter.

I have a 1990 Accord EX 5-speed with a short ram and exhaust and i get a steady 30 mpg for highway and 25 for city. I though the miles would drop over 200,000, but at 225,000 it's not getting worse!

actually its been theorized that the older hondas get the better mileage they will get, to an extent

the idea is that over time there will be less friction on the cylinders wearing down, which in turn means the engine wont have to work as hard to move them in turn giving better gas mileage.

I dont know if this works or not but i have 139k on my car now and im waiting to see

Normally I drive 80 on the freeway with 60 mile round trips to work about 3 to 4 times a week, drive around the city a bit, '91 EX coupe, automatic. Average about 26 mpg.

1991 Accord EX... I typically get upper 20s mixed, and low 30s exclusively highway. I don't drive like a grandma, but with 2 babies in the car, it's close.

I filled up the other day ($43 for a full tank) and am now at 200 miles with over half a tank left in my 91 EX w/5spd. I am very interested to see how the mileage will pan out as this is the first time I have actually filled up the car since I bought it. Everything is stock and I have only changed the oil, air filter, and spark plugs.

When the light comes on you've gone through about 14 gallons...outside of pure interstate driving I have yet to crack 300 on my regular routes from full tank to light coming on...

But again my O2 sensor is toast and I'm running smellingly rich.

it has been proven that the H22 only ways a few pounds (10~15) more than the f22.
