I know on a 97 prelude auto if you just wire in the f20 it won't shift right

I'm near finished on my F20B swap, however, I have a slight problem. I ordered an H22 intake manifold to fix my IACV problem, the manifold's are the same size and I used the F20B throttle body, but there is an extra 2-3 inches on my throttle body cable for some reason. Anyone know why?

So does that mean it's normal for the cable to be too long?

Yeah either setup a bracket to adjust the linkage back securely or Some people choose to swap a prelude throttle cable in

I have the f20b installed and the fuel pump is working, but it doesn't seem like the fuel injectors are putting fuel into the engine. I have spark. Is there something i'm missing?

If you have spark and there is no fuel to the cylinders it could be the ECU or the CYP sensor.

What ECU are you using and how do you have the TDC, CKP and CYP sensors hooked up?

Good call on the ecu, I pulled it and opened it up. There was a significant amount of corrosion inside the ecu. I'm going back to jdm Florida tech today to see if I can get one in better shape. It must have gotten water intrusion on the boat ride over

JDM tech florida gave me another pcb-004 and i swapped it in. I started the car and it was running real rough. felt the headers and only cylinder one was hot. used a socket extender and hammer and gently tapped on the injectors and they started firing right away. Seems like it was a combination of sticky injectors and corroded computer.

One more question, is there anything special i need to do to get the fans to turn on and get a reading on the dashboard thermostat? Maybe i didn't let the car run long enough.

Thanks for all your help.

The fans are controlled by two engine coolant temperature switches A & B. One of them should be located in the thermostat housing and the other is on water neck for the upper rad hose, located on the front of the engine. I'm not 100% but I think the JDM engines only have one of the switches. You may have to find an H22 component to add the second switch or find a way to wire up the rad fan controller to use one control switch.

The temp gauge on the dash gets its signal from a single wire engine coolant temp sensor that is located under the distributor.

Okay thanks, sounds like an aftermarket temp gauge is the way to go.

For future reference to help others:
The main accessory belt for the f23 to f20b swap using the f23 alternator and a/c is 6pk1107. The power steering belt using a prelude p/s bracket p5m and the f23 power steering pump is 4pk1040.

I'm getting ready to do this swap from f23a1 to f20b and just ha a couple questions to make sure I don't need anything. Can I use my original ecu, wiring harness, and computer or do I need to make any modifications at all?

I am new to the forums and am interested in doing the F23A1 to F20B swap. I have seen several posts on the swap out on several different sites, but none really answer my questions. I am a newbie and need as much information as possible. Are there detailed instructions out there on how to do the swap, or a video be awesome! So far, I have seen that Triggerman77 has posted the most about the swap and been successful. If you still follow the feed Triggerman77, any information would be great! But of course I am open to any and all feedback. I have a 2002 Accord SE Coupe, automatic. I just replaced the transmission last year and now looking at a doing the motor swap. I want the F20B for the higher performance. My motor is getting up there in milage so I figure while I'm swapping for lower miles, might as well get better performance. I've seen a few places online to buy motors, but where is the best? Can I keep my existing transmission? What are the trouble areas in the swap? What extra parts will I need? Thanks to all!

I used the stock CV joints. Suggest getting them rebuilt prior to putting them back in. Change the clutch, timing belt, tensioner and water pump while you're in there.
I modified the stock wiring harness to work with the f20b. Injectors were sticky when i first tried starting it. had to tap them to get them firing.
Good luck. Its not a hard swap. Take your time.

It's the immobilizer chip in ecu. It's time to covert to obd1
