Default distributor help

I have a 95 accord ex with a 2.2L vtec engine (not original engine with car) and my distributor died, but i have a 94 del sol si with the d16z6 1.6L vtec engine thats basically a parts car
The distributors look the same, and the plugs look the same (from a quick glance) anyone know if i can pull the sols and put on the accord?
Thanks
Nick

Why not give it a shot and see. If it doesn't fit/work the parts inside the D16z6 distributor could probably be swapped over. What part of your distributor died?

Uhh exactly not sure, sensor maybe, car died while driving, attempts to starts but doesnt, nothing to do with fuel, and the number one cylinder cel comes on, i pulled the ecu fuse and reset the ecu, started, ran, then died again. Anything i could be missing to try first?

Is the CEL flashing Code 9 No.1 Cylinder misfire (CYP sensor)?

You could test the CYP sensor. Do you have access to an Ohmmeter or multimeter?

if you do you can check the resistance on the CYP and see if it is at fault.

Disconnect the 8 pin connector from the distributor and check the resistance between pins 4 & 8 (ORG & WHT wires) you should see 700 - 1,300 Ohms.

View of the connector from the terminal side (not wire side)

If the resistance is not within those specs the sensor is toast. Honda lists no such replacement parts, only choice from Honda is to replace the distributor housing. However, if you strip apart the distributor the Magnetic parts of these sensors can be replaced... If you have the spare parts. If your not into DIY distributor rebuilds, a replacement distributor housing is a much easier option.

If the resistance is within those specs you could have a short/open in the two wires between the CYP and ECU. First check the connector and make sure the wires are in there good and tight and that they are clean and free of corrosion/dirt.

Then you can check the continuity of the two wires between the distributor and the ECU.

Checked the resistance, about 830, and i remembered, when it used to be in the shop, it would start and running off starter fluid, and when i drove it, it wouldn't go past 4500 In any gear... i don't know if that helps anything, but at the moment im charging the battery, it died
Thanks

As far as I can tell(judging from F2D/F2B swaps; if a=b and b=c, than a=c) the distributor should work?

Give it a shot.
