2003 Oxygen Sensor
I recently ad my check engine light come on...so i pulled the code and it came back as p0141. Everything i found on the internet said that was the O2 sensor before the catalytic converter. I replaced it....cleared the code... but upon startup the light returns. Any help would be most appreciated

o2's are not covered under emissions waranty unlike the cat and ecu and other components which are 8/80. You will have to replace the secondary o2 sensor.

Re: (metric)
So heres the deal. A certain Major Auto parts store told me that P0141 was the O2 sensor before the catalytic converter. So I knowing just enough to be dangerous belived them. So after trying everything could think of multimetering to check for shorts checking the new oxygen sensor. I decided to call my local honda dealer to see if there were any ECU software problems. When to my great enjoyment I was informed that that code refered to the sensor after the catalytic converter. This made me very happy since i already droped $140 on the first one. The so called auto parts store wanted $237 for the second one...the dealer surprisingly had it for $90....AND PROBLEM SOLVED. Thanks for all the interesting information. I know i will use this site again thanks for all the help.

Honda uses code 41 for the heater circuit of the 1st sensor.
OBD-2 code P0141 is defined by SAE, where the blinking-light codes were made up by Honda before OBD-2.
