2002 accord P1457 error
the check engine light was on so I took in the car and the error code was P1457. I was told by one mechanic that I had to replace the bypass value, shut valve, solenoid filter and the evap canister because you can't by just buy the evap canister shut value. Is that true? If not where is the valve located on the 2002 Accord?

thats a negative sir. i recommend you erase the code at autozone and drive the car for another 300 miles. Make sure your gas cap is on tight. that usually trips that error code if im not mistaken

Re: 2002 accord P1457 error
Hi,
I have a honda accord 2000 SE. I have the same P1457 error and check eng light. I have erased it many times by taking out clock backup fuse but the light comes back.
I have ordered the Canister Shut Valve and the Canister set by reading a lot on the web about this problem with ACCORD 2000.
The reason you need to change the Canister set is because the Valve is attached to the Canister with 2 screws that are all rusted and stuck over time. No one wants to spend time to take valve apart from the Canister. Just replace both the parts.
Does anyone know how to remove the Canister from underneath the car. It is bolted to the bracket by just one bolt, but it is all rusted and behind the tubes and hoses. Any precaution I need to take?
