shifting the gear to neutral without clutch
is it ok to shift the gear to neutral without depressing clutch? i mean if you think about it your saving the clutch, but is it bad for the transmission?

It will wear on your syncros faster but if you shift while still giving a little throttle instead of while coasting or decellerating, this will ease the pressure. A little practice and you will get your gas foot and shifter hand in sync just fine.
You are driving along, pop it into N and take your foot off of the gas quickly, the big rigs do it all the time and their trannys last for hundreds of thousands of miles.

ive noticed that when i take my foot off of the accelerater, i can shift out of any gear, but only right after my rpms start to fall after accelerating. without clutch.
is this the same thing?

I drive a freightliner for work. I very rarely use the clutch to shift. 1st gear and thats it. Up and down shifting all done w/o the clutch. Truck has 90K on it and original clutch.

mANY Scenarios may work but you should get out of gear while your foot is still on the throttle, truck drivers have an RPM range that they must do all of their shifting but on a big truck the RPM's dont drop fast like a car because normal driving is like 2500 RPM not 6000 for some of you younger guys.
The truth is that if there is not a back load on the gears then you can shift out with no problem, you dont have to be on the accellerator like I have been saying but it take practice. I go out on the town to rescue folks with blown clutches and instead of towing them back I let them drive my van and I drive their car with no clutch at all, I know how to start at a green lights and how to avoid red lights if at all possible but anyone can drive any car without a clutch, it just takes practice.
