OK, my pass seat airbag (inside the side of the seat) blew sometime back so I have had no airbags that would work since that was blown and have had the airbag light on.
How do you get the back seat panel off? I suspect I need to disconnect the battery, for how long before working on anything? Looks like just two bolts holding it in the seat? Once all back together does the airbag light go out on its own or do I have to do any type of reset/master reset to ensure system is all working??

You will need to replace the SRS computer with one that hasn't been in an accident. Could roll the dice and get one used but I'd recommend just getting a new OEM one. I had to do that in an ex's Accord and I want to say it was ~$200? Her seat bag blew out as well, I ended up just replacing the seat with a working one as you'd have to stitch everything back up yourself.

the car is not the prettiest car so I think we could fix the seat to be presentable.
Why do I need to replace the computer? It is shot after a deployment? If so where is it on a 01 accord?

looks like they are for sale on EBAY all day long for 40 or so bucks a pop unless I am looking at the wrong thing.

They are a single-use item and must be replaced after an accident. I actually found my original post about it -

Your risk is they may be from wrecked cars with deployed bags, there's really no way to externally tell if it's good or not.

You don't list any information about your vehicle so I'd recommend looking at like Majestic Honda's online site with your info to find the price of one new. You could spend $40 and get lucky I guess or keep on buying them. I bought used side curtain airbag and seat that were both in good shape but went new OEM on the computer.

2001 4d auto ex with leather.
The plan was to stick a used airbag back into the seat and have the wife fix up the seat. Will it look new, no, but the car is not perfect either. It is just a older honda that has taken some hits to the chin if you will but has only 123k on it and I know the full mech history of the car, it has mechanically been WELL taken care of. We are the 2nd owners.
So I need to find a new SRS unit which I assume controls all the bags in the car?

If the air bag went off maybe the seat belt went off also.

I did this in a 98 civic. Both airbags had deployed. I replaced both airbags and the SRS computer, with junkyard(Identical) parts. Worked out alright...no SRS light came on.

Does he seat belt work now? If not then it went off with the air bag.

what do you mean does the seat belt work? Yes you can put it on and it clicks into thingy. What else may you mean?
The car was not hit hard. Prev owner pulled out to street and snagged the front fender on their rear bumper. frankly don't see how the bag even should have went off.
Where is the SRS computer located???

so once I get to the SRS then get it fixed I still could have seat sensor and belt issues???

More than likely not. However having the SRS codes would tell you what sensor(s) are damaged. Airbags being deployed are obviously an issue and have to be replaced but other SRS sensors may be damaged.

You likely will not have to replace the seat belts if they weren't being used.

now when this car hit the other car it just snagged the front pass fender. If I put another one on it you would not know it was in a fender bender. That tap made the one bag go off as stated here. Is there a sensor on the rad support that should be replaced?

well I got the pesky little airbag installed into the seat. Next stop is the SRS computer.

is there a sensor in the front of the car I should replace? Again it was just tapped but set the bad off in pass seat, tapped on the right front fender, didn't even hit the headlight.

is the seat belt sensor good still if I can grab the belt and snap it fast and it locks. No one was in the pass seat when it happened.
