2000 accord V6 timing belt replacement
There may already be a post on this but I couldn't find it.I'm replacing the timing belt on a 2000 accord ex V6.I have the factory manual and it says I need a tool to hold the crankshaft pulley to remove it.Do I have to buy this tool or is it something you can rent(some parts stores have tool loaner programs) or is there a substitute tool that can be used to hold the pulley in order to remove it? Any info is apprieciated. Thanks

I changed my timing belt on my 98 accord 3.0 and I would not recomend using anything other than the required tool. I know for a fact that autozone dosen't carry it, but i've seen them on the internet for around $40.00. I fabricated my own tool but I had to work twice as hard than if I would have had the right tool. Also don't be surprised if that crank bolt is super tight, I had to use a 4 foot cheater pipe to loosen the bolt.

What I am saying is if you can not find tools then you not going to do the timing belt, its something else man, sometime pros can have hard time with it.
