Default dc headers

iam wondering if this gasket is the right one that goes for my dc sports 4-2-1 headers with the oxygen sensor hole on the 4 pipes piece?
i want to put this one, there is no gasket on mine so i cant identify which one works so someone in this forum might of done this work and replace theirs and know which one it is.

If you dont mind me asking, where did you end up purchasing the gasket?

Also, does the attached pic look like any DC header you have ever heard about? I saw the pic for sale near me on craigslist...
Unbelievably cheap because the guy claims he is missing the gasket... anyway, It does not really look like any DC header I have ever seen for a 94-97 4cyl accord... appreciate your take

thanks,

Correct me if i'm wrong, but i believe the DC header uses a gasket similar to the OEM gasket between the exhaust manifold and head pipe, it's 2 separate metal rings that provide the seal.

you may well be right about the gasket.... i'm still not sure if this is actually a DC header or some cheap knockoff... how will I be able to tell?

another question I have is, If I purchase a DC header in the US, would the design be any different for my car. As I mentioned my car does not have a catalytic converter,.. so i'm not sure how that will affect header design.
Will a DC sports 4-2-1 header then work for my uses?

Thanks

well, my car shipped from honda without a cat converter because originally the car was optimised for leaded gasoline, and as we know, lead poisons the converters, so that explains that.

From what I know, DC uses ceramic for their headers, have you ever heard of a stainless steel DC 4-2-1 header?

DC Sports header will have their logo on the header.

I highly doubt your car does not have a cat. It is a federal law to have them. In old muscle cars, you can run leaded or unleaded, but in new cars you cannot run leaded gasoline.

just letting you know, my car is not and has never been in the US, thus not needing to conform to federal regulations...
Accord EX Model CD4, F20B2 engine right hand drive.... doesn't sound US to me..

Thanks for the heads up about the logo on the header...

You can buy gasket maker. Its a large piece of gasket, and you cut out whatever you need. I had to use it cuz mine blew out.

one last question is... is there a difference between the DC header for vtec and the non-vtec engines? The problem is, my engine (f20b2 SOHC non-vtec) is not sold here in the US so sometimes part matching can get a bit complicated.

Thanks

If you have a supportive seller, you can measure your port hole size and the distance apart and whether it is 0-0-0-0 or 0-00-0, and tell him if it matches. Vertical length may be an issue though. $0.02

well, I will be heading home to get to the accord ina few days, but the aim was to take the header with me...

I may not be able to figure this one out remotely... there are too many variables I think..

that said, why the hell doesnt dc sports have a working website?

AEM and DC Sports are basically one company now if I remember correctly.

Make sure you buy good gaskets. I had an OBX header and the gasket you are talking about blew out and caused so many problems. Terrible mpg, CEL, so i bought a sheet of Mr. Gasket and made my own and used the red high temp rtv and the thing blew again later. The header was just to warped.

More than likely that is an eBay no name header. Some people have luck w/ them, others dont. Personally, when I have the funds, I am going to get a Megan header.

waiting on the seller to come back with some visual confirmation that it is a DC header.. just need to see those logos!

I have been looking at pictures of the DC header for the accord EX and the one for the LX and I honestly cant find a difference visually.. kind of wierds me out..

And I know AEM bought out DC (i think) but they never really fixed a website for DC so I cant look up their products etc..

how does the megan compare to the DC powerwise and pricewise...?

Make sure to have him put his name + date on a piece of paper next to it.

Like it was previously stated, make sure the exhaust ports match up. I think the EX's on 5th gens have the 0-00-0 pattern while the LX and DX (f22 non vtec) have the 0-0-0-0 pattern.

Oh and btw get that gasket maker is easy and it works!
You quite obviously DO mean to thread jack.

Post in the WTB/FS thread. Don't post in other people's threads.

And yes, it's not a DC Sport it appears to be a DC Sport replica but that doesn't really matter.
