You have any other DTC's other that the P1486? Is the coolant level low? Does the radiator fan run all the time with the ignition on? Check the radiator fan circuit, fan switch circuit and fan switch. Also, check the operation of the thermostat. If these all check ok, you will hafta replace the ECM.

I'm not sure if there are any other DTC's as this code was from the dealer's service diagnosis printout. They recommended replacing the ECM, but I will have to check on the cooling system. i don't have access to the car until my sister drives down so it will have to wait.
