Default Minimum length of extensions for crank pulley bolt

Hey, newbie and sometime lurker here. Pretty soon I may need to do my timing belt on my 95 coupe. Kind of getting things together for that job. I know the crank bolt is basically considered the devil and bane of the existence of the home mechanic. I have a 3/4 breaker and even a 1" sliding T handle I picked up for cheap over the years. The 1" drive bar is pretty freaking stout and confidence inspiring. I am not silly enough to try to do this with 1/2" tools! Don't want to go down the milwaukie/lisle route given I already own what I believe are adequate tools + personal dislike of impacts stemming from their seeming to just turn bolt heads into a bunch of metal shavings whenever I've used them. The issue is how much length of extensions do I need. Large drive extensions do not grow on trees! Done a TON of reading on this, and have seen people say anywhere from 16 or 18 inches to 24 of extensions in total. Right now I've got two 10" extensions in 3/4 for a total of 20" and I have one 16" impact extension in 1" Would 16 even clear the wheel well? Would 20 give me enough room to not worry about scratching the fender? Do I need to keep looking for more extensions? THANKS GUYS

Get the $20 Lisle crankbolt socket and a powerful cordless impact and call it a day.

man I already said I have all the tools basically, just wondering if I need another couple inches of extension. That's gonna cost me a lot less than what you're talking about, if I don't have enough already, in which case its gonna cost me nothing. a 4" large drive extension on ebay or the local junk store is a lot cheaper than an m18, in 3/4 it'd be peanuts.... And Like I said I don't really care for impacts from my limited experience with them, and lots of people report they invest all this money into them for them just to not work on this bolt. I don't see that happening with a 10 foot cheater on my 1" bar... seems like all the real deal dealership and long term honda guys swear by the large drive breaker on jackstands with the holder tool like i'm talking about...

The only thing that would work, and I mean the only thing that worked on mine was a mechanic buddy's brand new new Milwaukee cordless impact. My older Milwaukee wouldn't budge it, a giant cheater bar with extensions supported by a jack stand, heat, nothing. It was weird. I don't think my '94 Accord ever had that bolt removed (at least not since I've owned it... since 2005?) and if it did, they must have clacked down hard on that thing with an air impact. I don't know about anyone else, but that's what it took on mine.

Zero extensions. 19mm deep impact socket and a half inch breaker bar. If you can't do it with that then just buy an impact and quit wasting time.
