1995 Honda Accord LX V6 Idle Issues
Hi, First time posting. I just purchased a 1995 Honda Accord V6 about 2 weeks ago. The previous owner told me he was having issues with a hard start when the engine is cold and also a jumpy tach. I fixed the tach issue by installing a new ignition coil, but I am still having issues when starting the vehicle. Whenever I turn the key to start my car, the engine turns over but idles really low and shudders (shakes the whole car) and eventually stalls. If I continue to press the gas pedal or pump the gas, the car will eventually start to idle normally once it is warm. So far, I have cleaned the IACV per some other posts on the forum. I also tried to tighten the FITV spring loaded fitting (did not clean the FITV). When I tightened the FITV fitting down, I could not get the car to start any longer. It would turn over, but would eventually stall regardless of pressing the gas. I took the plate off the FITV and loosened the spring fitting and the car started after pressing the gas pedal (not sure if this has anything to do with the start problem). I drove it around for a few miles and came back home. No issues with starting once the vehicle warmed up. Not sure if the FITV has anything to do with it or not. Oh, I also disconnected the MAP sensor and tried to start the car, but the low idle problem/stalling was still there. Any ideas on what to do next?
