1995 Honda Accord EXR - noisy engine
First time poster... took a look through the history and couldnt find any similar posts, so here it is.
I have a 1995 Honda Accord with the 2.7L engine. Engine is making clicking/ticking noises at idle, and at low RPM. The exhaust was toast, so i replaced that myself hoping it might be causing some of the problems, but the motor is still making the noises. Recently the water pump went, so I had a new timing belt and water pump installed.. they also replaced the seal on the back cover since it was leaking oil. I read that these motors have hydraulic lifters and should not require valve adjustments. Anyone know if this is true or not? Any suggestions what I could do on my own? the only thing i can think of so far is 1) trying moving the distributor cap slightly which was unsuccesful. 2)removing the cover and spraying the valves with lucas oil stabalizer and hope it quiets them down or 3) add one of those additives to the oil. Any suggestions or ideas would be greately appreciated.
cheers

You could try putting in 0w20 mobile at your next oil change, that would clean up any sticky lifters.
That was a fix for the older Isuzu passports.

Re: 1995 Honda Accord EXR - noisy engine (Mr Yamada)
I put in 10w40 at the advice of a Canadian Tire mechanic today.. I didnt notice any difference in the clicking, but i can give your suggestion a try at the next oil change.
Doing lots of research.. scared that this weekend im going to have to tighten up the valves this weekend. Always seems to be something wrong
