Default 1992 Accord with various issues that I could use some help with.

Bought it extremely well maintained with 129k 2 owner miles on it a year and a half ago. I've already rolled the poor thing over 170k, and she's starting to need some work. I'm pretty handy, but I could use some help from people who know this car better than I do. If you have any input on a given issue, mention it by number, I'm gonna list them by priority.

1 - AC leak. Audible hiss from behind the glovebox. I'm guessing it's the evaporator. Removed glovebox and frame to access it, apparently there are a couple hoses I need to get to at the firewall. Which would be fine, except for the stuff that seems to be in my way. A trapezoidal black box with some wires or hoses going to my intake manifold, and a brake fluid reservoir that appear to be dedicated to the ABS system, for starters. Any neat tricks to get to those hoses?

2 - there's a weird little gadget on the firewall, almost dead center top, with wires and what appear to be vacuum lines going to it. Something EGR related maybe? Whatever it is, it's keeps clicking on and off making a knocking sound that's audible inside the car. Doesn't seem to affect much else. Note - it changes and starts and stops according to electrical load, brake lights, blinkers, headlights, etc. I don't know if this part needs replaced, or if it's a victim of...

3 - there is a mysterious electrical gremlin living in this car. I have been unable to track it down, so I'm hoping there's a common point of failure you folks can point me toward. Is there a particular wire or harness that is known for having issues? It only seems to be affecting certain circuits. The dash clock and that EGR thingie are always affected. Other dash controls are only rarely affected (cruise control, wiper controls). nothing else seems affected, not even the stereo, and she runs fine (other than the occasional refusal to start on hot days, but I already determined that to be a known solder connection issue thanks to your search function).

Everything else I've been able to find by searching, you guys are awesome. :-)
