Spark plug tube seals, do I need to replace both upper and lower?
My 93 Accord died on me the other day, and I pulled the plugs and they were swimming in oil, on both the top and bottom of the plug. My question is, do I need to replace the upper AND lower plug tube seals? The dealer sold me upper seals, but I did some research and people said I need to replace both, and I have to take the rocker arms off, and that just scares me a bit.
I took the valve cover off, and the upper seals do not appear to be distorted or anything, but looks can be deceiving.
What should I do?

there is only an upper seal. no lower seal exists, unless ur talking about the piston ring,
so dont worry too much just replace those upper seals and see how it goes. Thats most likely your problem if its sitting in a puddle of oil

Re: (Eddiebx)
Maybe I'm calling it the wrong part, but here's what I'm talking about:
(plug tube seals, lower plug tube seals, valve cover gasket (AutoZone sells a set by FelPro for $16 that includes all the gaskets/seals you'll need)

I guess I could replace the uppers and see how it goes, but I dont want to trash a new set of spark plugs.

There are lower seals.. They sit under the rocker arms. Get both of the seals and it will stop. If you go directly to honda, it comes with both.

You can try replacing just the uppers at first and see if that stops the leak. However it is probably to your advantage to replace both at the same time. If the lowers are the cause of the original leak, and you don't replace them, you will have to do go in and do the same job twice.
