1992 Accord LX 4cyl starter replacement how to
So...
first off, I used the almighty search button. I came up with a lot of threads on diagnosing starters, not replacing them. Here's my story...
my gf's dad's 1992 Accors LX 4banger, 5speed will start! Thing is, it takes about 10 minutes. Turn the key, the solenoid clicks and the starter motor whirrrrrrs. Bad thing is, it doesn't throw out the starter gear to engage the flywheel. One morning it took about 10 minutes of crank, sit for a few seconds, crank, sit, crank before it'd engage the flywheel and in Honda tradision, it'd fire up.
So, everything I've read here is 3 bolts, which seems easy. I'll be doing this outside and it's winter here in Michigan, so wish me luck, and any advice you may have (beyond the usual 'dress warm' and 'have the gf make hot cocca')

Re: 1992 Accord LX 4cyl starter replacement how to (professorman)
The upper bolt came off fairly easy with a 'cheater bar' and the lower bolt that holds the starter on is on there really good as well, and I can't get it off. It's on jackstands and I can't get the cheater bar under it. I'm thinking...
socket-u-joint-extension-1/2" ratchet handle.
P.S. Professorman, what did your manual say? (if you have one) Once that's taken care of, it seems like it'd be pretty easy. Then again, I turn wrenches quite a bit (quickie lube at a GM dealer)
