1991 Honda Accord EX-R Valve Cover Gasket
Greetings all,
I purchased a 1991 Honda Accord EX-R a few months ago. I love it. I have just rolled 350000km or 217480 mi for you guys to the south of Canada Anyways I need to change my valve cover gasket. I bought the kit and there are lots of O-rings etc. I was wondering if anyone has done this before and if it is complicated?
Thanks
Jeff

The large donuts go around the spark plug tubes under the valve cover. The o-rings go under the rocker arm assembly. I would not change the o-rings, unless you are getting oil into the spark plug tubes. There also may be some of the little rubber grommets that go under the cap nuts. Apply a little Hondabond (or rtv gasket sealant) in the corners where the valve cover goes over the camshaft. The little cap nuts are ONLY TO BE TORQUED AT 7LB FT. If you try to tighten them too much, it will easily snap the little studs off the head bolts.

if you change the rocker arm o-rings, you'd have to do a valve adjustment soon after otherwise you'll run the risk of having the valves be way outta spec. It should be .10 for intake and .12 for exhaust valve clearances. I would also suggest buying a Haynes manual, it was pretty helpful for me.
