Hondas are never "due" for a fuel system service. Most likely their shop is due for your fuel system service. I have never changed a fuel filter due to a drivability symptom. Even on neglected vehicles.

maybe, but it won't change the way the car drives.

fuel coming from the injectors does a pretty good job of keeping the area of the ports it contacts clean.

best thing you can do without taking the motor appart... is to clean the TB with carb cleaner and continue to maintain the oil and the ignition system. (these two things seem to have the most severe impact on drivability when they are neglected)

There's not much to service... a can of injector cleaner and the winter shot of dry gas should pretty much cover it.
Starting in 1998, even the fuel filter was buried in the tank, never to see the light of day again.
The only thing which might come to mind would be to inspect the air cleaner element and clean the throttle body bore. (both very easy)
