Re: where the ej1 love at? post pics
^^ Thanks man, details/numbers are in my sig.
473whp/330tq on pump gas/low boost - 18psi (haven't done a race gas tune and no E85 pump fuel up here in Canada), also this is at 3500ft elevation aswell.
I'd be curious to see what it would make at sea-level on pump gas. Should be around 500whp on same boost pressure.
Wheels are 16x8 +35 all around and tires are 205/45R16's all around.

After weeks and weeks of constantly posting on this thread I feel its finally coming back to life. For sure DPK Davids ej1 is hands down one of my favs that light coloured purple one is also very nice. These cars are so unique as they're not very common as the hatchback. I am also keeping mine its a 93 I've done a few retrofits and I still continually work on it I would love to paint it and fix my rust after I graduate school and come back from teaching abroad.
Anyways, that's my 2 cents hopefully we can continue to put content on here every week and get this tight nit community back up to pace.
PS spAdam that looks like an amazing start man I wish you the best of luck the callipers and powder coated items look terrific.
Also I live in Canada so if anyone needs parts from CDM eg's let me know as their is a junkyard only 10 minutes away from where I live.

I'm up here as well. :D
This is my ej1 project.(nothing compared to the beauty's in this thread).
Happy with how my JDM b16a pulls, so I'll work on the looks a bit.
- currently awaiting the install of my new 2 stage clutch, oem fog lights,& USDM p30 ecu.
Next upgrade wheels, & tires.
Any suggestions?
Futher down the list:
Clean up the body,& under the hood.
Thinking of adding oem mud guards, they're not painted yet tho.

Lol yeah. I made an spreadsheet in Excel so I can figure out what's what and get them back into the labeled tackle boxes they came from. It made me giddy to see them all cleaned up and freshly plated though!

Yesterday I exchanged the gearbox on my EJ2 for a S20 tranny from a D13 (EUDM EG3, 1.3 carb version, shortest gearbox for a D-Series). While I was at it I also fitted a new clutch, put some fresh oil in the tranny, replaced the clutch slave-cylinder and replaced a driveshaft.
That called for a test drive and I figured it would be cool to make it into a little road trip. Checked a map for a nice destination and a place called Spa-Francorchamps caught my eye.
As you know this is one of the best racetracks in the world and I'm happy to live only an hour drive away from it. It's great to live in the south of the Netherlands, Spa at an hour driving, the Nurburgring at half an hour more...
The surrounding area to the track hosts some great driving-roads. At the track was a test session for GT3 race cars. Very cool to watch. But that's not all. The Spa track has been shortened in the 80's. The old part of the track was part of the normal roads and can still be driven today. So I also drove that. It's quite special to know your driving at a place were motorsport history was written and were guys like Moss, Hill, Ickx and Stewart have driven at the limit and at speeds of 160 miles per hour avarage.

Very cool read, thanks for sharing. I've never heard of that specific tranny before is it hyrdo or cable? How does shifting feel and are there any noticeable differences?

The biggest (and almost only, exept for 4th and 5th being a little shorter also) difference is that the final drive is shorter (4.4 compared to 3,9 or something). I did some acceleration tests before swapping and after and the time I need to go from 80km/h (50mph) to 120km/h (75mph) dropped by about 1.2 seconds in 3rd gear. It also drives more smoothly due to the closer gearing. The engine stays in it's "happy" rev-range. With the old tranny it just dropped to a point were the engine needed to rev up a little to make some power (don't know exact rev's).
So I'm very happy with the results. Only downside will be that it will use a little extra fuel because of the higher rpm's at cruising speeds, but I think that will partially be compensated by the fact that the car pulls away easier.
