Hahaha nice. I'm sure the biggest reason is because of it being FWD. It would be harder to fit a V4 into the engine compartment if it's sitting sideways. They would have to make the front end a little larger which would make the car weight more thus worse gas milage. That's just a thought though.
there are plently of transverse mounted "V" engines so i don't really think that space is that much of an issue. cost production i am sure is. two of everything and i am sure a 4 cyl exhaust manifold takes about the same time to manfacture as a 2 cyl. exhaust manifold, two of which would be needed per engine now if it were of V4 configuration. many other parts also fall under this catagory.
there is actually quite a bit of room to actually squeeze a V4 engine into a honda. the end result would be a car with zero performance gain that is now many times harder to work on. ugh, that would suck.

i don't think that is a trait of a V4 or a flat 4. i am sure that the honda V4 would be just as reliable as the honda V6.
Re: Why aren't there any V4 engines? ([crx]Hated it!!!)
I used to own a 84' Nissan pickup deluxe edition 4x4 and it had a V4, with eight spark plugs (damn eighties emmisions) was a pretty torquey engine off-road, but as far as getting to 60 on the highway it was a struggle. Or it could have been my 3 inch lift and 33" tires. I miss that truck. Can't find'em anymore, they're about as rare as a girl that doesn't **** 30 guys before she's twenty. Sold it to some mexican guy (I think he bought it to smuggle drugs across the border cause he asked me if it could make it to mexico and back) for 1500 dollars. If I could ever find another one of those trucks again I'd ****** it up faster than a New York minute.
