What is the Z* for a 98% confidence interval

What is the Z* for a 98% confidence interval
doing some stat homework, and i need to know the Z* score given: a 98% confidence interval. I know 99% confidence is = 2.576 and 95% is 1.960 but i dont know 98% or how to find it. Can someone help out?

no i have a Z table but its just for Z scores not Z* for confidence intervals and i cant figure out how to calculate it on my own. Its obviously some thing like 1x blah blah math bullshit = the score i need but i dont remember what to do.

I used to know how to do it, but I took the class over a year ago and no longer have my book. Sorry I cant help

thanks a million you were right the formula is
xbar + or  Z* times sigma divided by the square root of N
that Z* score worked

xbar is the mean and sigma is the standard deviation right?

Xbar is sample mean sigma is population standard deviation

I am taking Quantitative Methods II this semester

yeah i got screwed in college i really dont like math and im on my 4th math class in college. I took topics in contemporary finite math, Calculus, statistics, and now im in statistics for social sciences. Thats overkill for a political science major if you ask me but thats A&M for ya.
