What is wrong with people in Idaho??? Story inside.....
Police are calling it a complicated and tragic turn of events that began early Thursday morning near the intersection of Franklin and Cloverdale, when a Boise police officer watched a truck plow head-on into a car with a mother and two children inside. 36-year-old Samantha Nina Murphy and 4-year-old Jae Lynn Grimes died in the crash. Murphy's 8-year-old daughter Syndee was hurt. The driver of the truck, 50-year-old Alofa Time is charged with tw counts of second degree murder for his involvement in that accident.
“Second degree murder implies intention,” says Mike Webb, Deputy Chief of the Boise Police Department. “We believe from our investigation that he intentionally hit this car on Franklin road to cause the death of these two innocent victims.”
Webb says officers soon made a gruesome discovery at the scene. “As other officers arrived on the scene, they found a horrific piece of evidence, a severed female head laying on Franklin Road.”
Investigators say the head was that of a woman who wasn't involved in the crash, but rather that of Time's ex-wife, 47-year-old Theresa Time. Soon after Time's arrest, investigators surrounded the couple's Nampa home with crime tape and waited for a search warrant. Inside, the Canyon County Coroner says they found the 47-year-old dead in the garage.
“The female was sitting in the driver’s compartment of the vehicle,” says Canyon County Coroner Vicky Degeus-Morris. “Obviously, she had been decapitated.”
Nampa Police have now charged Time with 1st degree murder in the death of his wife.
Degeus-Morris says there are many questions left to answer, though she's not sure she will ever fully make sense of today's twisted turn of events. “In my 22 years, this is probably the most brutal I’ve seen, given the whole picture.”
The coroner was not able to say much about how Theresa was killed or exactly when. She says those questions will be answered in an autopsy to be performed Monday morning. As for Alofa Time, he is in the Ada County Jail charged facing those 3 different murder charges.
