They have people specifically hired to forge your check in case something like this happens.

So no, it won't be sent back to you.

If they bank with us we stamp the back. If they do not bank with us it gets sent back.

If you want to get the check back you can call the bank when they open and go over and sign it. We normally do the atm within 20 of opening the bank.

go in when they open up on monday so you can be there when they are checking the atm. you can probably just sign it then and be done with it. if not, then good luck son. some banks keep the freaking things and dont notify you....then the fun with the employer begins...trying to get another check that is haha.

You'll be fine.

Bank of America lost 2 of my checks after I deposited them- then they proceeded to harass me for 4 months to tell them who the checks were from.

They lost out on the 100 or so dollars, and a few weeks later they installed new ATM's that scan the checks.

I did this for a while at BofA when I started working back in highschool. It just went through to my checking account after about 3 days.

the people who empty out the atms scratch your name out and make the check payable to themselves...then proceed to deposit the check into their accounts Click the image to open in full size.

Not exacly. The stamp we use basically states that this check is being deposited into an account at our bank. That is why we can not use it on non customers.

You can put a check through and it may or may not get sent back. It really depends on the bank that the check is drawn on.

Not true. They can still be returned. You also don't technically have to sign. I miss checks that are cashed and not signed and just stamp them, there has not been one to come back..

Your bank must hate you. We always wonder wtf is so hard to sign a back of the check and do the right math when you enter the check into the atm.

Most likely nothing. It depends on who the check is drawn on, if it's drawn on a bigger bank it will clear just fine.

You could deposit a 5,000 check that isn't signed or endorsed and BofA will still pay it. They don't check for jack. Click the image to open in full size.
