Default Are there any states without smog laws?? which?

Does anybody know if there are any states that don't require you to smog your car to transfer titles. And does anybody know if TEXAS requires you to smog your car?

Texas does require smog to get your safety inspection current, which is required for tags. You can get a title only without smog, but the car will not be tagged or legal to drive.

Oklahoma has none of these laws.. if you have a title for the car, then you can get an Oklahoma title/tag. No inspections, no emissions.

Oregon doesn't have smog testing except for the Portland Metro area (and the Rogue Valley). However, I have heard that Oregon watches registration a lot more closely than most states since there is no sales tax here. A lot of people try to buy/register cars here since they can get out of the tax...

Whether they do watch closer or not I don't know, but that is the rumor (and its a big fine too...like 10k).

Washington state also doesn't have smog testing statewide. Just in the urban areas I believe (I know the southern coastal area doesnt for sure).

North Dakota. It's a "do whatever the hell your heart desires" kinda place. Unless you have tint on your 2 front rolldown windows. Then you're just fucked.

No smog here in Florida. Tampa used to require it, but hasn't in a few years.

only major cities in texas require smog test (houston, dallas, fort worth, austin).. so far none of the smaller cities are there yet. Click the image to open in full size.

okay, the news about Florida is great, 'cuz I have to go to a test only station, and it won't pass, but I was thinking that if I transfered titles to somebody outta state, and then back to me, then I could take it to any normal station, am I making any sense?

Pretty sure only Fulton County [Atlanta] and the surrounding metro counties in GA have emissions laws.

Kentucky doesn't require emmisions at all.

Here in Colorado you're only required to get emmisions if you're in the Denver Metro area. If you live in the mountains or out on the plains you don't have to. Pretty much everyone in the hot rodding crowd out here has a mountain address on their drivers license and registration.
