Just go into your closest, fill it with cement and just hang out in there till it dries.

Do this out of reach of your keyboard please.

Click the image to open in full size.

Might as well just build a fallout shelter in the basement. It'll serve two purposes.

The only people that need to build panic rooms are those who live in deserted areas or a small suburban community.

*goes to watch Panic Room for the first time on Youtube*

I went to a ladies house once that had this. It had a huge sheet of metal on the door and I asked her" so what prevents them from knocking down the dry wall".

I think she had it rebuilt after i said that. Always amazed how fear can become a market

Why the **** would you need a panic room? People don't want confrontation when they break into a house, they just want to get the **** and leave.

Fear has been a market for some times.

It's called "the news".

The US media sells fear, the European media sells sex more.

So true...

A panic room would be cool... but it really needs to be designed as the house is being designed. And if that's the case, why not just make trap/fake doors and an escape route?

My house was built in the early 70's....i have over 2,000 sq ft to work with and i'm completely renovating it.

I have more 1/2" steel sheets than i can get rid of via the closure of my fathers plant about 15 years ago so i figured i'd build a panic room

I'm not actually going to use it for anything but being that i'm doing alot of the construction myself i figured it would be pretty cool to advertise to a potential seller in the future that this room has a bullet proof/fire proof saftey room.

i also think it would be cool to just say "hey wanna see the panic room"

Advertising a room that you essentially made yourself lined with scrap metal as "bulletproof/fireproof" very well may land you in pound-you-in-the-butt prison one day.

Are you retarded?

scrap metal? We are talking about 12 ft by 15 ft sheets of steel...they seriously have to be moved around by a front end loader...before you call it "scrap metal" it was used to line the walls of a testing facility for potentially explosive materials. This was a load that was purchased to build anotehr one of these exposive hazard rooms but was never assembled because the plant was shipped over seas.

What i have is was designed and engineered for GE and comes with the frames, braces and even the venilation system.

I'm not sure why you would assume that it would land me in jail.

Some men build things for show, like shaving door handles or building panic rooms.

Usually retarded people do things like eat mud or spell their scrn with a . first.
