Default I want my B18C idle to sound like a VTEC killer Idle

I have decided to put this thread in general discussion forum because I didn't want to get flamed to death in forced induction forum please go easy. Alright I said it, I was on youtube the other night and ran across the vtec killer video those cams sound amazing!!!!!

2. Is it possible to grind a standard vtec camshaft with an idle like that?

3. The v8 guys do it all the time is it a remote possibility for us ? Granted, I wouldn't want them if they didn't perform but I almost want to run them for the sound.

4. A forced induction application with a nasty idle would be **** for me.

5. Let me know what you all think am I crazy or is there a market for these?

Oh boy. Are you already running a boosted set-up? I would look into turbo cams specifically for your application, you can get some that will give you a loping idle I'm sure. Vtec killers are for high strung all motor setups if I remember correctly, and thats not what you want if you're boosted at 315 hp already.

1. I know they eliminate vtec and are very finicky but I definately want my car to sound like that some might say its gay but listening to that thing has really got me going.

Do you really have 315 hp? What are the current specs of your car?

I've been out of the turbo game for a while, but if I remember correctly an aggressive cam (something that will give you a "lumpy" idle) is something you do NOT want with a turbo application. Don't you want high lift, but low duration? Ehh, I forgot.

big overlap, big duration, low base ignition timing.

you get to take credit for making your car sound like its about to break down and probably be slow all at the same time because you dont understand the meaning of the word "package".

There are forced induction cams that have a somewhat lopey idle. They won't compare to the vtec killers but idle sound is subjective. My advice is to do some research on who makes good forced induction cams for b-series engines. After that, get all your engine information together and call up their tech lines. Tell them you want a cam for your set-up with a lopey idle and see what they tell you. Everyone else is gonna flame the **** out of you.

Go 25 psi, crank up the timing. You will have the desired idle sound and think of all the money you will save from not having to buy those cams.

I can respect that thanks for actually answering the question. I don't understand all the flaming though its a simple question. I've already bought new cams pro1 and I already know they will not idle like this. I was just wondering what everone else thought didn't think it would be like this.
